When a space shuttle goes missing during a test flight, James Bond (Roger Moore) is the man who must track it down. His investigations take him to Venice (where he uses his specially customized gondola), Rio de Janeiro (where he fights steel-toothed henchman Jaws on top of a cable car), and finally into outer space (where he uncovers a ruthless plot to wipe out the human race and replace it with genetically engineered humanoids). First-time director Seth Holt's stylish noir drama stars George Nader as a fugitive on the run from the police. Sentenced to ten years in prison for robbing an old lady of her valuable coin collection, Canadian thief Paul Gregory (Nader) is swiftly sprung from jail by his former partner-in-crime Victor Sloane (Bernard Lee). Hoping to retrieve his ill-gotten gains, his plans are derailed when a series of double-crosses forces him to go on the run. With the police hard on his tail, Gregory finds himself crossing the Welsh countryside with socialite Bridget Howard (Maggie Smith, in her debut role) in tow.

Zoltan Korda directs and produces this South African-set drama based on the celebrated novel by Alan Paton. Set in a little village in the scorched valley of Ixopo, the story revolves around the family of Reverend Stephen Kumalo (Canada Lee). The Reverend's son, Absalom (Lionel Ngakane), has disappeared and his sister, Gertrude (Ribbon Dhlamini), is ill in Johannesburg. Kumalo leaves his poor village with his life savings in order to go to Johannesburg to try to persuade his sister and son to come home but while there he finds his son has been accused of the murder of the son of a farmer. As both fathers suffer, they slowly become friends. Sydney Poitier co-stars.

More electronic puppet action in this, the second of the 'Thunderbirds' films. This time round, Tracy Island's resident genius Brains designs a revolutionary new aircraft, the Skyship One, only to see it hijacked on its maiden voyage. The Thunderbirds team get ready to come to the rescue, but with Alan Tracy and Lady Penelope trapped on board the Skyship, and Thunderbirds 1 and 2 heading into a trap set up by the hijackers, it's not going to be that easy.

Ealing Studios comedy set in the Scottish isles. Hollywood's Paul Douglas plays Marshall, an American businessman who becomes involved with The Maggie, a rundown old shipping vessel captained by the taciturn skipper (Alex Mackenzie), when he is trying to find a way to convey his luggage to a remote island. It doesn't take Marshall long to realise that the skipper and his crew have pulled a fast one on him - but what can he do to stop them?

Superior police procedural drama, with a strong cast, from 1956 that portrays solid and patient police work without any of the psychological undertones more prevalent in the 'noir' thrillers of the same period. This film follows a team of British coppers, led by Supt. Tom Halliday (Jack Hawkins), as they try to solve a complex case involving a series of burglaries.
